A 12-year-old boy wasn’t happy about his school uniform policy.
The policy says that boys aren’t allowed to wear shorts in hot weather.
So he goes to school wearing a skirt. He gets “a bit of teasing” to begin with, but ultimately receives the support and admiration from his friends and the staff at the school.
It wasn’t exactly revolutionary. No huge social upheaval has been achieved, or immovably entrenched conventions defied. It’s not really related to any kind of cross-dressing or trans-gender issues (though if transfolk can find a small confidence-boost in this, that’s a bonus). It was all pretty low-key and uneventful.
A boy went to school wearing a skirt, and it really didn’t matter to anybody.
Good news, everyone.
