“Richard Dawkins: I will arrest Pope Benedict XVI“
Richard Dawkins: Needless to say, I did NOT say “I will arrest Pope Benedict XVI”.
Oops. Nice going, Sunday Times. Actually, Dawkins is simply supporting a legal initiative to challenge the Pope’s forthcoming UK visit. Despite the fun that Graham Linehan was having with it earlier, the pleasing vision of Dawkins and Hitchens themselves mounting some sort of citizen’s arrest is unlikely to come to pass.
I’m not in the mood to analyse the various pros and cons of letting the creepy hat dude in, or highlighting the ever-expanding list of atrocities he and his organisation ought to be held accountable for. Allison Kilkenny does some of that. My brain’s thinking more along these lines at the moment: That’s no panda. If you can’t make it out, this video makes it a little clearer. If you still don’t know what you’re seeing, it’s not something I’m going to explain to you. (Link via 4chan. Obviously.)
I know I said I was planning to get more stuff written today, and I did. Just not much for this blog. I’ll get there eventually.
